YAY: Jackie Canchola

Jackie is a first-generation Latina small business owner who is focused on safe, community driven events for all.

 

Jackie recently graduated from Northwestern University with a Master of Science in Leadership for Creative Enterprises degree. With over 15 years in the live event and hospitality industry, Jackie would love to help plan your next event for You And Yours!

 

The first YAY event organized was San Diego Travel Expo at Encore Event Center in Feb 2023. Planned for client, Travel and Cruises, this free family-friendly event had 22 paid travel vendors such as Disney Cruise Line, AMResorts, and Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority. 

 

Past experience: Artist transportation and hospitality for festivals and bands such as Wonderfront Festival, Radiohead, Pearl Jam's The Home Shows, and Bumbershoot Music Festival. Shuttle service includes service for the Boeing factory for the farewell of the Boeing 747 "Queen of the Skies" celebration. And production assistance for events such as Google Marketing Live (2019) in San Francisco, the Lululemon footwear collection launch in New York City (2022), and the Grand Opening of Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle (2021).

YAY did it ALL for our Travel Expo! It was such a great concept with a new and fresh way of thinking, and it was definitely out of the box. Jackie Canchola is an experienced event coordinator- she made our event a success with new and past clients. Within a short period of time, the new idea was born and fully implemented. All we did was check out the milestones such as the online presence of beautifully designed and printed large posters and postcards. YAY contacted and invited all 22 vendors, and Jackie organized and gave detailed instructions up to the end of the event. YAY contacted various local newspapers for advertising, hired the best food trucks, coordinated local volunteers to help, a videographer to capture the event, an MC to host, and AV operators for the video presentations. What a fantastic approach for the Best Travel Expo ever! To be continued in 2024 with YAY Productions! Thank you for making my company well-known in San Diego and beyond
